Description
English: Sign erected by Meath County Council about Reynoutria Japonica alias Japanese Knotweed.

In Ireland as with the rest of North America and Europe the species is classified as a pest and invasive species.

Taking cuttings is discouraged. Handling the plant in any way carries the risk of human contact with strong chemicals.
