Description
Deutsch: Mykenischer Kopf.
English: Female portrait, perhaps a sphinx or a goddess. Painted plaster, ca. 1300-1250 BC. From the Cult Center on the Acropolis of Mykenai.
Français : Portrait unique en plâtre d'une femme, peut-être une déesse ou un sphinx, l'un des rares exemples d'art plastique monumental mycénien. Plâtre peint, vers 1300-1250 av. J.-C. Les traits faciaux, d'expression sévère, sont accentués par des touches de peinture brillante rouge et noire, tandis que des rosettes viennent éclaircir les joues et le menton. Les cheveux tombent en petites boucles sur le front sous un polos (coiffure cylindrique). Zone du Centre cultuel de l'acropole de Mycènes, XIIIe s. a. C. Musée archéologique national, Athènes.
