  • the Royal Navy destroyer HMS Norfolk (D21),
  • a Royal Navy Tide-class oiler which refuels Norfolk and
  • the U.S. Navy guided missile destroyer USS Claude V. Ricketts (DDG-5); the ships are followed by
  • the Royal Netherlands Navy frigate Hr. Ms. De Ruyter (F806),
  • the West German frigate Braunschweig (F225) and
  • a Royal Canadian Navy St. Laurent-class destroyer, probably HMCS Assiniboine (DDH 234).
