One of the many herbal medicine kiosks outside Quiapo Church, Manila.

Summary[edit]

Description
English: Up to this day, many Filipinos still practicing indigenous medicine, many still believes on the healing powers of nature. Despite the lack of forests in the metro and through the ingenuity of some, it made the herbal medicine be available even on the highly urbanized areas of the country. They are usually found outside the Catholic churches or provided by the local shamans of every community. Perhaps the abundance of these herbal kiosks is a sign that folk medicine is still effective despite that modern medicine is very much accessible nowadays.
