Summary

[edit]
Description
English: An example of a J-coupling or splitting tree. Left: when 2 J-coupling constants are sufficiently unequal (Jab>Jbc) for spin ½ nuclei, a doublet of doublets with an intensity ratio of about 1:1:1:1 is seen in NMR spectra. Right: when Jab=Jbc for spin ½ nuclei, a triplet (collapsed or overlapping doublet of doublets) with an intensity ratio of about 1:2:1 is always seen in NMR spectra. If Jab≈Jbc, a triplet may also be seen in the spectra of NMR spectrometers with a sufficiently low resolution.
Suomi: Esimerkki J-kytkeytymis- tai jakautumispuusta. Vasen: kun 2 J-kytkeytymisvakiota ovat kyllin erisuuret (Jab>Jbc) spin ½ ytimille, NMR-spektrissä nähdään duplettien dupletti, jonka intensiteettisuhde on noin 1:1:1:1. Oikea: kun Jab=Jbc spin ½ ytimille, NMR-spektrissä nähdään aina tripletti (päällekkäinen duplettien dupletti), jonka intensiteettisuhde on noin 1:2:1. Jos Jab≈Jbc, tripletti voidaan nähdä kyllin heikon resoluution omaavien NMR-spektrometrien spektreissä.
