Deutsch: NSG NR. 285 Staatsbruch Landkreis Saalfeld-Rudolstadt DE-TH 4,Nationaler Geotop [1],Schiefersee ; Im 13. Jahrhundert begannen in diesem Gebiet bergmännische Tätigkeiten. Die stillgelegten Steinbrüche, Stollen und Schächte sowie die Halden sind Lebensraum für zahlreiche seltene Tier- und Pflanzenarten. In diesem zum Teil schlecht zugänglichen (und nur auf den Wegen begehbaren) Areal haben sich mittlerweile 170 Arten der „Roten Liste“, also vom Aussterben bedrohter Pflanzen und Tiere, angesiedelt.
