Description

Nederlandse Spoorwegen was never a significant operator of big diesels, being content to run small units in multiple on heavier freight trains. It first passenger diesels, the ill-fated 2600 Class, were short-lived and their successors, the single-ended 2700 Class, did not enjoyed a long life - perhaps because the work for which they were built disappeared as the electrified network grew. This fictional image depicts a German V200 Class diesel-hydraulic in the early blue livery applied to NS passenger locomotives (17-Jan-15).
