Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The Second Front Gate (Omote-ninomon) was formerly called the Second South Gate (Minami-ninomon) and leads into the inner Honmaru enceinte of Nagoya Castle. The gate has heavy timber columns and a crossbar which were covered with strong iron plates and especially thick. On either side of the gate are rare examples of fireproofed plaster walls. Since the gate is still an original, it has been designated an Important Cultural Asset.
