Summary
[edit]DescriptionNapier's second table.agr.png |
English: Second table constructed by John Napier to aid in his calculation of logarithms. Consists of 107 times 50 powers of 0.99999, computed by successive subtractions. The final value should be 9995001.224804, as Macdonald points out. The logarithms of each number can then be calculated by successive addition, starting with the log of 0.99999, calculated from the first table. From John Napier (1619) w:The Construction of the Wonderful Canon of Logarithms, Blackwood & Sons :p. 13) |
