Summary[edit]

Description
English: Shortly after World War II, on September 26, 1945, all Dutch people received ten guilders during the major currency cleansing that Lieftinck set in motion. In the week in which all old banknotes and coins had to be handed in - to then be exchanged for new money - people had to get by on these ten guilders. The name of the Dutch former Minister of Finance Piet Lieftinck is still known to many people because of the Lieftinck ten guilder note.
