Summary

[edit]
Description Back of the New synagogue of Berlin. This large synagogue was completed in 1866 and housed congregations of up to 3,000 people. It was partly damaged and burned on Kristallnacht in 1938 and also suffered bombing damage during WWII. Since the fall of the Berlin wall it has been renovated and this photo shows the back of the building with the transition from the old to new construction.
