Description
English: In 2008 (flags one can see waving have 2005, recycled from some earlier occasion) this and many other pictures was taken at a nevruz bayramı (as is the Turkish name of the festival) meeting in Ceyhan. The atmosphere was festive. It also had a political element, that escaped the photographer mostly. One can see some slogans, referring to peace and an end to war. He was invited on the stage and from there took pictures he could not have made elsewhere. He also roamed around, taking many wide-angle shots of the crowd. Some show the local dress, in particular women were dressed in the brightest colours.
