| Description |
English: Newsreels in which Dutch subjects of a certain week are presented.
Celebration of Emancipation Day on the Oranjeplein in Paramaribo on the occasion of the abolition of slavery 100 years ago. Governor Archibald Currie and Prime Minister Johan Adolf Pengel deliver speeches in the rain. In the afternoon Pengel visits three women who are over a 100 years old. They've witnessed the abolition and are therefore called the crown witnesses of the emancipation.
Nederlands: Bioscoopjournaals waarin Nederlandse onderwerpen van een bepaalde week worden gepresenteerd.
Viering van de Emancipatiedag op het Oranjeplein te Paramaribo tgv de afschaffing van de slavernij 100 jaar geleden. Gouverneur Archibald Currie en minister-president Johan Adolf Pengel houden in de regen toespraken. 's Middags bezoekt Pengel drie vrouwen van ouder dan 100 jaar die de afschaffing hebben meegemaakt en daarom kroongetuigen van de emancipatie worden genoemd. |
