Description
English: Dr. Nolan’s doctoral dissertation map depicting the route that two of York’s former commanders (Major Buxton and Captain Danforth) say the patrol took to arrive at the location where Sergeant Alvin York earned the Congressional Medal of Honor. The hand drawn Buxton/Danforth map has been superimposed onto the modern landscape. The artifact ditsributions found during Dr. Nolan's 2006 campaign of archaeology at the site are also depicted on this map with black crosses. The Buxton/Danforth map has been superimposed on the modern landscape using Geographic Information Science (GIS) technology.
