English: The noni's scientific name is Morinda Citrifolia and is a part of the Rubiaceae plant family. It is also known as the Indian mulberry and is indigenous to Southeast Asia and Polynesia, thriving in various environments due to its tolerance to drought conditions. The noni fruit is a multiple fruit that develops from fusing multiple individual flowers to make it into one super fruit. The roots, leaf, stem, and fruit has been used for its many health benefits as well as to make dye from its roots and bark. The illustrations show the different parts of the noni plant with the different stages of the noni fruit. |
