Description
Deutsch: Nordwestliche Ansicht der Replik einer Barocksäule in Eppelheim (Baden-Württemberg, Deutschland): Inschrift und Darstellung eines betenden Engels
Zur Geschichte der Bildstocksäule: Der Sohn der Eppelheimer Bauernfamilie Albrecht kämpfte im November 1812 in einer Schlacht im Napoleonischen Krieg (1803–1815). Als er von Belarus auf dem Rückweg nach Eppelheim war, ertrank er beinahe im Fluss Beresina, lothringische Soldaten retteten ihm das Leben. Als Dank für die Heimkehr des Sohnes errichtete die Familie Albrecht einen Bildstock an ihrem Bauernhaus in der Schwetzinger Straße. Die abgebildete Replik aus Kunststein stand jahrelang an der Straßenbahnendhaltestelle "Kirchheimer Straße", wurde 2021 aufgearbeitet und steht mittlerweile am Dammarie-les-Lys-Platz an der Grenzhöfer Straße.
