Summary[edit]

Description

This is a westbound Norfolk Southern Railway container train at Horseshoe Curve, Pennsylvania in the late morning on 10 May 2016. The head end had two engines, both of which had standard black-and-white NS paint jobs. The first unit was a CW40-9, followed by an SD60M.

The rocks in the Horseshoe Curve railroad cut (Kittanning Point; Kittanning Mountain) are fluvial sandstones of the Rockwell Formation (Famennian Stage to Kinderhookian Stage, upper Upper Devonian to lower Lower Mississippian).
