English: This illustration shows a 2 small intestinal villi highlight the brush border cells overlying the lamina propria (derived from Image:Gray1059.png, uploaded on 18:30, 23 January 2007, and originally published in 1918 by Gray's Anatomy). The image highlights the luminal side of the brush-border membrane and illustrates the tight junctions betweens the cells. Image was made with paintbrush.
