Description
English: Photo taken at the Lofoten War Memorial Museum (Norwegian: Lofoten Krigsminnemuseum) in Svolvær, Norway, showcasing the country's largest exhibition of uniforms and smaller items related to the Second World War and the German occupation of Norway from 1940 to 1945:
  • Wooden military skis
  • Norwegian General's Uniform 1940: Displayed on a mannequin is the Norwegian Army (Norwegian: Hæren) officer's 'mountain-grey' service uniform M1934, which was used in 1940 during the German invasion of Norway in World War II. The uniform consists of the following items:
    • Norwegian army steel helmet M31: This helmet, a modified Swedish M26 helmet with a small crest on the top, bears an embossed Norwegian lion-and-axe motif (Coat of arms of Norway), serving as the national emblem on a metal oval badge.
    • Tunic: The tunic features a closed collar, a 6-button front, external pleated breast and waist pockets with scalloped flaps, and green piping at the collars and cuffs. It displays General officer rank insignia, which consists of large matt silver wire stars on wide oakleaf-patterned gold braid.
    • Riding breeches, laced gaiters, binoculars, and other related equipment are also part of the exhibit.
  • Uniform of a soldier in the Norwegian army 1940, with kepi cap, etc.
  • Uniform of a medical officer in the Norwegian Navy 1940
