Summary[edit]

Description
English: Photo taken at the Oscarsborg Fortress Military Museum (Norwegian: Oscarsborg festningsmuseum) in the Oslo Fjord, Norway:
  • Shako, a tall, cylindrical military cap with a visor, as part of the uniform of the Norwegian Army model 1855. In 1855 a new headgear was introduced for both the infantry, the cavalry and the artillery, based on the French system. The officers had rank insignia in the form of gold braids around the upper rim of the headgear.
