Summary[edit]

Description Having a cup of tea in the traditional Nepalese cafe in the Taumadhi square in the Bhaktapur Durbar Square meant that the kind Nepalese lady running the cafe allowed us to go upstairs to get a good view from the square and the surrounding streets. Bless her! I was quite a steep climb to the upper floor by a narrow set of wooden stairs. From the first floor gallery, which also had restaurant seating, we are treated to this final view of the Nyatapola temple, detailed notes about which appeared earlier in this album. (see previous pictures). The Nyatapola Templel was built between 1701 and 1702 by King Bhupatindra Malla. This is one of the tallest temples in Nepal measuring about 30 mtr in height. Nyatapola literally means 5-storeyed in Newari language coming from the words “Nyata” meaning five and “pola” meaning roof. (Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Nepal, Oct/ Nov 2019)
