Description
Ελληνικά: Ο πύργος κτίστηκε από τον Λυκούργο Λογοθέτη, αρχηγό της επαναστατημένης Σάμου. στη θέση ενός από τους πύργους του προϋπάρχοντος Βυζαντινού κάστρου του Πυθαγορείου .

Το Βυζαντινό κάστρο είχε κτιστεί στη θέση του αρχαίου κάστρου της Σάμου στα τέλη του 7ου αιώνα, εποχή έξαρσης της πειρατείας στο Αιγαίο. Εγκαταλείφθηκε το 1475 μετά την κατάληψη του νησιού από τους Οθωμανούς.

Ήταν το διοικητικό κέντρο των "Καρμανιόλων" κατά την Επανάσταση του 1821 και μέχρι την φυγή από τη Σάμο.
