Description
English: Obelisk from old cemetery near Szklarska Poręba in Poland. It is speculated that before WWII that was burial ground for people that were fire or Sun worshippers. Close-up reveals carven oil lamp symbol and text in German: "Nicht ekle Würmer soll / mein Leib einst nähren. / Die reine Flamme nur soll ihn / verzehren. Ich liebe stets / die Wärme und das Licht / Darum verbrennt mich und / begrabt mich nicht." (My body shall not be aliment for vile worms. Only pure fire may favor it. My love for warmth and light is eternal, so burn me rather than bury me)
