Deutsch: Kriegerdenkmal in Obermillstatt, ein Dorf in der Gemeinde Millstatt am Millstätter Berg (Hochplateau) über dem Millstättersee in Kärnten / Österreich / Europäische Union. Das Kriegerdenkmal wurde von Friedrich Gornik (1877-1943) und einem Text von Guido Zernatto (1903–1943) in den späten 1930er Jahren geschaffen. Die Aufstellung des Denkmals wurde vom Gemeinderat von Obermillstatt am 24. Juli 1937 in der Zeit des Austrofaschismus (1934-1938) beschlossen.[1] Aufschrift: „Kampf um die Heimat. Kampf um die Scholle Blutkampf und Brotkampf seis was es wolle beides uns heilig und gross Kampf unser los.“ Auf zwei einzelstehenden Tafeln rechts vom Denkmal sind die Toten aus dem Ersten Weltkrieg, auf den zwei Tafeln links die Toten aus dem Zweiten Weltkrieg aufgezählt. English: War Memorial in village Obermillstatt near Lake Millstatt (Millstätter See), district Spittal an der Drau in Carinthia / Austria / EU. The war memorial was created by Friedrich Gornik 1877-1943 and texted by Guido Zernatto (1903-1943) in the late 1930s. The erection of the monument was decided by the municipal council of Obermillstatt on 24 July 1937 during the period of Austrofascism (1934-1938).[2] Inscription: “Fight for the floe blood fight and bread fight what it wants both of us holy and great fight our lot.” On two single plates to the right of the monument the dead from the First World War are listed, on the two plates to the left the dead from the Second World War. |
