Description
English: Monsignor Frederick Melendro. Born 07/18/1889 in Villasila de Valdavia (Palencia, Castile and León). He was ordained a priest in 05/03/1922. Chosen Prester Tit. Remesiana and Vicar Apostolic of Anking 17 02 1930. Consecrated 06/01/1930 by Monsignor Huarte in Anking, was elected Archpriest Anking 04/11/1946. He died on 14/10/1978.
Español: Monseñor Federico Melendro. Nacido en Villasila de Valdavia (Palencia, Castilla y León) el 18/07/1889 fué ordenado sacerdote el 05/03/1922. Elegido Preste Tit. Remesiana y Vicario Apostólico de Anking el 17/02/1930. Consagrado el 01/06/1930 por Monseñor Huarte en Anking, fué elegido Arcipreste de Anking el 11/04/1946. Falleció el 14/10/1978. A la edad de once años ingresó en el Colegio de San Zoilo, regentado por los jesuitas. Tras una temporal interrupción de su estudios por una grave enfermedad, pudo seguir su vocación y fue ordenado sacerdote en 1922. Tras cuatro años en Cuba, regresó a España y poco después marchó a las misiones de China.
