Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Geysers are hot springs that episodically erupt columns of water. They occur in few places on Earth. The highest concentration of geysers anywhere is in the Yellowstone’s Upper Geyser Basin (northwestern Wyoming, USA).

Old Tardy C Geyser is an unnamed geyser in the Sawmill Group. It is located about 5 meters north-northeast of Old Tardy Geyser and just due east of Crystal Spring. The feature consists of a relatively small, geyserite-lined vent subcentrally located in a weathered geyserite sediment-covered depression. It erupts infrequently with low, light splashing that doesn’t reach above the surrounding ground level (for example, see: www.youtube.com/watch?v=yv0BgmA2msE). The vent is lined with a mix of relatively smooth-surfaced geyserite, finely pustulose geyserite, and geyserite terracettes.

The Sawmill Group significantly changed in early 2017. Sawmill Geyser, the dominant member of the group, was last seen erupting at the end of January 2017, and has been dormant ever since. Sawmill Geyser's dormancy has been accompanied by changes in other Sawmill Group features. Some features are inactive or near-inactive, others have become more active, or are engaging in atypical behavior. Old Tardy C Geyser was engaged in low, light splashing eruptions every time it was observed in summer 2017.
