Description
English: Olmiite
Locality: N'Chwaning Mines, Kuruman, Kalahari manganese fields, Northern Cape Province, South Africa (Locality at mindat.org)
There are five major clusters of this relatively rare mineral here, the one in the center having the deepest and best color. It has medium lustre but what this specimen lacks in luster is made up for by the size of the clusters – to 2.4 cm across. There is some contact on one of the clusters at the periphery on the bottom, but overall the specimen is in fine shape and presents very nicely with good 3-dimensionality. N'Chwaning olmiites are of course highly sought-after specimens. 6.8 x 4 x 2.5 cm
