Description
Deutsch: Das "Olympic Stadium" wurde 1963 - 64 vom wichtigsten Architekten Kambodschas, Vann Molyvann realisiert. Olympische Spiele fanden dort nie statt. Es liegt in der Innenstadt und hat eine Kapazität von mindestens 60.000 Besuchern. Die Aufnahme stammt aus dem Jahr 2014. Im Jahr 2023 fanden dort Events im Rahmen der SEA Games statt. Allerdings wurde zwischenzeitlich 18 km ausserhalb der Stadt ein neuer Sportkomplex (Morodok Techo Stadium) mit chinesischer Unterstützung errichtet, der die Zukunft des Geländes in Innenstadtlage in Frage stellen könnte.
English: The "Olympic Stadium" was realised between 1963 - 64 by the famous Khmer Architect Vann Molyvann. Olympic Games never happened there. The location is in the city center, capacity is about 60.000 people. The Foto was shot 2014. In 2023 some events during the SEA Games took place there. Shortly before the Morodok Techo Stadium opened - 18 km outside the city, financed with chinese help. The future of the ensemble seems unclear.
