Title
Onkaparinga Woollen Mills - opening of Building 16
Description

Premier Richard Butler opening Building 16 of the Onkaparinga Woollen Mill in Lobethal (then Tweedvale).

Information provided by Brian Brock, Onkaparinga Woollen Mill Museum, 15 May 2012: 'The photos were taken in Bldg 16 which was part of the original finishing dept, the five sets of windows still exist today as well as the double sliding door, we have photos which show women mending cloth within the walls of that building which clearly show the same windows'.

Onkaparinga Woollen Mill is located in Lobethal. At the time, the town was named 'Tweedvale' - renamed as a result of the Nomenclature Act (1917). The Nomenclature Act of 1935 restored the town's German name 'Lobethal'.
