| Description | A group of five large pieces of glass averaging nearly 1000 lbs each in weight shown here. Although the glass was two feet thick, it was possible to see distinctly through it. Window glass of this thickness would be almost opaque. These pieces would be inspected carefully before they were cut, in order to save the largest possible piece of good glass. | |||
