Summary

Description

A sign in the cemetery of Oradour-sur-Glane.
This small sign reads "Crimes committed by the 2nd SS Division "Das Reich" on the orders of General Lammerding". I am however not sure this information is correct; according to the wikipedia article, it was the Waffen-SS "Der Führer" regiment who was responsible.
(in fact the Waffen-SS "Der Führer" regiment was a part of the 2nd SS Division "Das Reich")

This is a photograph which I took during a visit to the French village Oradour-sur-Glane on June 11 2004, exactly 60 years after its destruction by the German army during World War II.
