Summary[edit]

Description

The Great Sand Dunes are often compared to dunes on other planets such as Mars - with good reason. With the park's thin, cool air, extreme temperatures, and very similar dune forms, NASA scientists have studied Great Sand Dunes to better understand dunes on Mars, Venus, and other planets.
