First light comes to Ben Franklin Place in the Ottawa suburb of Nepean. While the morning was beautiful, it was cold! Toques, gloves, and down jackets were the order of the day, followed by hot coffee to warm frozen fingers and bodies! :) “Built as Nepean’s new city hall when Ben Franklin was mayor, the project was phased in to avoid incurring debt. One important aspect of the building was the construction of a proper theatre for Nepean, which had been using the auditorium at Sir Robert Borden High School. In addition, the complex includes the council chambers, city offices, a large library, and an outdoor skating rink. The architects used a glass-covered atrium in front of a central axis entrance. Centrepointe Theatre has become an important cultural venue for the west end of the city.
