The Ouarzazate Solar Power Station, located in the Drâa-Tafilalet region of Morocco, is the largest concentrated solar power plant in the world.

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The Ouarzazate Solar Power Station, located in the Drâa-Tafilalet region of Morocco, is the largest concentrated solar power plant in the world. The plant generates power in an efficient, socially responsible and environmentally friendly manner, thereby reducing greenhouse gas emissions and supporting Morocco's efforts to mitigate climate change. This image, acquired by a Copernicus Sentinel-2 satellite, shows the plant in the middle of April 2020. Information delivered by Copernicus satellites is used in the Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS) that provides useful and accurate information on solar radiation to the renewable energy sector and policy makers. This information helps the sector to plan both large solar power farms and smaller-scale rooftop installations and to forecast and maximise future outputs.
