Oval fat bodies can be a sign of kidney dysfunction, and the underlying cause should be investigated and treated accordingly.

Summary[edit]

Description
English: The presence of oval fat bodies in urine microscopy can be an important finding with various clinical implications. Oval fat bodies are not normally present in urine, and their presence may suggest certain underlying medical conditions. Oval fat bodies are essentially renal tubular epithelial cells that have absorbed fat droplets, giving them an oval or "maltese-cross" appearance under the microscope.
