Ek self, soos jy sien, is swak, en my diere is weg. Ek het nege kinders. Hul ma is dood.
English: Osman Adbi Nur, 72, is from Kulaley village:
"It's been five years since this water point last had water. We get our water from Elado which is six miles away from here, using donkeys and donkey carts. “A majority of the livestock are dead, but our problem now lies with the human beings. The mothers, children, elderly and orphans are facing a big risk. We are facing a lot of problems in getting that water. There is not enough water to wash clothes. There is not enough water to drink; to cater for mothers who are giving birth; and for the sick. And for the children who are in school there is no water to cook for them. “Myself, as you see, I am weak, my animals are gone. I have nine kids. Their mother has died. I have no animals and I am this age." |

We get our water from Elado which is 6km / miles away from here. We use donkeys and donkey carts to ferry water. It has effected both the livestock and human beings. We did not used to rely on farming we now rely on animals. A majority of the livestock are dead but our problem now lies with the human beings. The mothers, children, elderly and orphans are facing a big risk. The way we are experiencing we are facing a lot of problems in getting that water. There is not enough water to wash clothes. We want the agencies to drill us a borehole. Myself as you see, I am weak, my animals are gone. I have 9 kids. Their mother has died. I have no animals and I am this age." |
