Description
Français : Le lac Bam, situé au Burkina Faso, est le plus grand réservoir naturel d'eau de surface du pays, avec un bassin versant de 2 610 km2 s'étendant de Kongoussi à Bourzanga. Ce site joue un rôle crucial en fournissant la subsistance à des milliers de personnes dans la province de Bam, grâce à l'agriculture maraîchère et à la pêche. Environ 800 pêcheurs y trouvent leur moyen de subsistance, et cette tradition de pêche se transmet de génération en génération, de père en fils. Il n'est donc pas rare de voir des enfants de pêcheurs à bord des pirogues, partant à la recherche de poissons. Malheureusement, le lac est en train de s'assécher progressivement, ce qui présente un risque sérieux pour les stocks de poissons ainsi que l'approvisionnement en eau nécessaire aux cultures et au bétail.
