Summary[edit]

Description A U.S. Navy Lockheed P-3A-10-LO Orion (BuNo 149670) from Patrol Squadron 8 (VP-8) "Fighting Tigers" receiving a fresh water rinse developed to combat the corrosive effect of salt water spray from low level anti-submarine warfare missions. In October 1962, VP-8 became the first operational P-3A Orion squadron in the U.S. Navy.
