Selected HRMS studies that show the increased understanding of the ‘PFAS world’, yet under exploration (2023)

Summary[edit]

Description
English: Selected HRMS studies that show the increased understanding of the ‘PFAS world’. The (smaller) green parts depict the four well-studied PFAS considered by Cousins et al. [1] (i.e. perfluorooctanesulfonic acid (PFOS), perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), perfluorohexanesulfonic acid (PFHxS), and perfluorononanoic acid (PFNA)) in relative comparison with the number of additional PFAS (tentatively) identified in the indicated respective studies.

1) I.T. Cousins, J.H. Johansson, M.E. Salter, B. Sha, M. Scheringer Outside the safe operating space of a new planetary boundary for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) ; Environ Sci Technol (2022), 10.1021/acs.est.2c02765 ; acs.est.2c02765
