Summary[edit]

Description A model of the Clyde paddle steamer PS Meg Merrilies at the Glasgow Transport Museum, 2 March 2007. She was built in 1866 of iron by A&J Inglis, Clydebank for the North British Steam Packet Co. The Meg Merrilies measured 192 ft x 23 ft x 7 ft, weighed 213 tons gross and had a 110 nhp Inglis steam engine, giving her a maximum speed of 24 kts. Curiously, in 1868 the Turkish Ambassador in London bought her, renaming her Nusetteya. In 1869 the vessel was taken to Constantinople and she was renamed again to Nuzhetie. She was broken up in 1912.
