Description
Svenska: Officerspaviljong/Marketenteriet/Drifts- och Serviceavdelning vid Gotlands regemente, P 18. Uppfört 1889. Officerspaviljong ägdes av officerskassan men såldes 1902 till Kronan. Ny officersmäss inrättades 1905 i Kanslihuset. Officerspaviljongen kom då till användning som bostäder och senare som marketenteri (den mittersta delen) fr o m 1916 (enligt vykort från 1910 användes den dock redan då som marketenteri) samt underofficers- och furirsmässar, i västra respektive östra flygeln. Eftersom det nya soldathemmet uppfördes 1975 och övertog marketenterirörelsen och underofficers- och underbefälskårerna flyttade ut 1956 kunde hela byggnaden disponeras för andra ändamål. I samband med att A 7 och Lv 2 flyttades över till Visborgsslätt skedde en stor ombyggnad som gav plats för Drift- och serviceenheten (DSA) med hörsal, lektionssalar mm. Då fick byggnaden namnet Avar.
