Français : Pagny-sur-Meuse Notre-Dame de Massey statue - Pagny-sur-Meuse

Vierge à l'enfant "Notre-Dame de Massey", pierre peinte polychrome, 14ème siècle - classée Monuments Historiques le 7/12/1993 hauteur : 1m24, largeur : 41 cm

C'est devant cette même statue que Jeanne d'Arc vint prier en février 1429, mais elle se trouvait alors dans une autre chapelle plus ancienne.

Sur la partie inférieure de la robe, la polychromie d'origine, qui était beaucoup plus fine et délicatement ornée, a été badigeonnée au cours du 20ème siècle, par des mains peu expertes, de larges aplats de peinture criarde, qui n'est pas dans le même ton que le haut. La tunique de l'Enfant a également été repeinte.
