Description

37 Calne Road, Lyneham, Wiltshire, England. This is a 2011 comparison photograph to complement the 1930 photograph of the same view by Fred C Palmer, File:Fred C Palmer Lyneham L106.jpg.

If the same building and road still exist, then they are so changed as to be almost unrecognisable. The exact original site is unknown; this site at 37 Calne Road looks similar in image File:Palmer sites 2011 Lyneham 029.jpg, although it is now thought that no. 59 The Green is the original site.

This image is taken from the camera position that Palmer would have had to use, if 37 Calne Road were the correct site. You can just see the house behind the trees. However this side of the road is not low enough to carry water, which is one reason why the house on The Green is the more likely location.
