Notes Il ritratto di Domenico Panceri presenta nell'angolo in basso a destra la firma dell'artista, Gerardo Bianchi, accompagnata dalla data di esecuzione, 1888; il dipinto fu infatti eseguito col soggetto ancora in vita, caso assai raro nella storia della Quadreria dei Benefattori, costituita per lo più da effigi realizzate post mortem su modello di ritratti dipinti e/o fotografici. E' annoverato tra le opere migliori realizzate dal pittore.
