Summary
[edit]DescriptionPark View Road - new paving.jpg |
English: 11 December 2009. New paving along Park View Road N17.
(Top: facing south. Down Lane Park is behind the metal railings.) In February 2008 I posted photos of badly cracked pavements along Park View Road, next to Down Lane Park. I criticised the Council for failing to replace dangerous and broken paving stones. Click here to see how bad it was. From September to November 2009 - Haringey Highways Maintenance relaid the pavements with new paving stones, on both sides of Park View Road between Tamar Way and Dowsett Road. The row of paving stones near the kerb was replaced by asphalt. These are usually the slabs which get most damage from careless and selfish drivers who park, or reverse over the footway. _________________________________ Links § Another photo from February 2007. § Joseph McGarraghy has been raising similar issues in Prestwich near Manchester. His observation is that the asphalt sinks and leads to water pooling - and worse. § Age UK Dangerous Pavements Campaign |
