Description
Español: En el verano de 2014 empezó a funcionar el nuevo parque eólico de la isla de El Hierro. Forma parte de la Central Hidroeólica, que teóricamente podría abastecer casi totalmente de energía eléctrica de fuentes renovables. Este macroproyecto es posible con grandes subvenciones. Una central diésel actúa como reserva. Los cinco aerogeneradores han sido fabricados por la empresa alemana Enercon. Son del modelo E-70, cada uno con potencia nominal de 2,3 megavatios (2,3 MW).
