This is plate four from Charles Ramus Forrest’s A Picturesque tour along the Rivers Ganges and Jumna, in India. Lieutenant-Colonel Forrest was a soldier and East India Company official who conducted expeditions along the Ganges and Jumna. Murshidabad is a city in West Bengal, located on the banks of the Bhagirathi River (a tributary of the Ganges).
