Description
English: The sign requesting passengers to cross the line by the bridge dates from the same era as the steam locomotive beside it, when politeness and tolerance were a key feature of official notices on Britain's railways. This photo was taken from the end of the main platform at Bridgnorth Station on the Severn Valley Railway (a heritage railway). A single semaphore signal is in the stop position, while the locomotive, 34053 'Sir Keith Park', awaits departure, wreathed in a thin blanket of steam.
