Description
English: An engraving after a painting by Jean Babtiste Le Prince, “peint d´apres nature”,

dedicated to the Empress Catherine II. The panorama shows the river Neva with a staffage of ships and commerce on the quay. To the right on the Zayachy Island is the historical center of St.Petersburg, the Peter and Paul Fortress with the Cathedral by architect Domenico Trezzini. At the distance on the Vasilyevsky Island are the tower of Kunstkammer, Strelka (Spit) and the harbour visible. To the left is the palace of the French ambassador, Marquis de L´ Hôpital. 1778.
