Nederlands: Joseph Mendes da Costa, 1904
De “Utrecht” is een Jugendstil gebouw ontworpen door de architecten A.J.Kropholler en J.F.Staal in opdracht van levensverzekering maatschappij “Utrecht”. Volgens de mythe voedt een pelikaan haar jongen in moeilijke omstandigheden met haar eigen bloed. Een zinnebeeld waar de verzekeringsmaatschappij zich graag mee identificeerde.
